Film Courses

AFTRS
Australian Film Television & Radio School - primary training ground for those interested in working in the Film industry. Runs a film music programme as well as sound design modules.

IFS
International Film School, Cologne. 2 year post graduate program in sound design for film.

Sound, RMIT
Originally the Media Arts course where Philip Brophy developed his Soundtrack and Audio Visual Theory modules. Similar and inerconnected workshops still conducted there by great staff. General bent of course are toward experimental and art-based interests, but with wide lateral applications.

National Film and Television School
MA course in film composing. Also offers an MA in sound post production plus sound recording for film and television. Located in Beaconsfield, England.

Queensland School of Film and Television
Occasionally offers course related to industrial training in sound post-production for the industry. Subject to current programmes.

School of Sound
Annual gathering of wide range of practioners in film scoring and sound design from around the world. Covers wide range of applications incorporating film & TV work.

Soundfirm
Australia's largest post-production house, spread between Melbourne & Sydney. Offers a sound post production training course and a sound editing course for individuals with no previous experience in film and television post production. Oriented toward professional servicing of the film industry in Australia.

University of Leeds
Postgraduate studies in music with some application toward film music. I year fulltime, 2 year part time course.
