Cinema & the Sound of Music
Sited within the Media Arts area of Rmit University, Melbourne, the
1999 CINESONIC Conference was created and devised by Philip Brophy (then
lecturer in Audio Visual Concepts and Soundtrack) with production management
by Emma Bortignon (graduate with Honours in Media Arts); publicity/promotion
by Megan Spencer (graduate & MA in Media Arts) & technical assistance
by Philip Samartzis (lecturer in Sound) & Thomas Couzinier (MA in
Media Arts). The original Media Arts website was co-designed by Philip
Brophy & Carl Priestly (graduate & MA in Media Arts). Major
administative back-up and support was provided by Andrew Wilson (graduate
& MA in Media Arts). Overall support and commitment was provided
by Les Walkling, senior lecturer & course co-ordinator of Media
Arts.
The
2nd CINESONIC received major support from the City of Melbourne, Cinemedia,
and the Australian Film Commission.
