Innocent Venus
(Vol.1)

(dr. Jun Kawagoe 2006)
published in Empire No.77, Sydney, 2008

A mix of lightly brooding characterization with a group-oriented quest saga, Innocent Venus charts the adventures of defected soldiers Jo and Jin as they protect the mysterious ingénue Sana. Jo and Jin worked for the oppressive Phantom regime who keep the shrinking world population divided into a global class war, but now they seem motivated to bring down that regime. Sana is puzzled by their actions, but bears a strong bond with them after they saved her from an uncertain fate. This first volume sets up many a mysterious premise that may or may not be engagingly revealed in forthcoming episodes.
